Albert Sutherland serves as Oklahoma Mesonet Agriculture Program Coordinator and Oklahoma State University Assistant Extension Specialist. He is a Certified Crop Advisor and Certified Professional Horticulturist. Mr. Sutherland received a Master of Science degree from Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science from Oregon State University.
His work within OSU Extension is to provide agricultural weather and climate education. This is done through Mesonet Weather and Agriculture: A Plains Perspective blog articles, SUNUP TV Mesonet Weather Report, OSU weather and climate fact sheets, Mesonet Tutorial videos, and Mesonet Agriculture Learn More documents.
Additionally Mr. Sutherland has acted as team leader and coordinated product development and support for Oklahoma Mesonet agricultural weather and climate applications. Specific products include: Oklahoma and National Cattle Comfort Advisors, Drift Risk Advisor, Irrigation Planners, Degree-day Heat Unit Calculator, and Grape Black Rot Advisor.
